Magpie is a magical being and the inspiration for many fairy tales involving birds as well as the famous nursery rhyme "One For Sorrow" (seen above) - like many fantastical creatures she is a native of Red's reality but has always been a dimensional-traveller and thus can be found in numerous stories across the multiverse.

Powers / Abilities

Magpie normally exists as a human with the traits of a magpie - however she can release up to ten smaller birds of varied species from her form at will, the number of birds determining the effect that will occur:

  • 1 bird (allows Magpie to induce depression or other negative emotion in a single enemy)
  • 2 birds (allows Magpie to install feelings of happiness within a single target)
  • 3 birds (allows Magpie to turn herself and others temporarily into females)
  • 4 birds (allows Magpie to turn herself and others temporarily into males)
  • 5 birds (allows Magpie to turn objects into pure silver unless they have resistance to magic)
  • 6 birds (allows Magpie to turn objects into solid gold unless they have resistance to magic)
  • 7 birds (allows Magpie to see the darkest parts of someone's soul - yet she is cursed to never reveal what she sees)
  • 8 birds (allows Magpie to grant very minor wishes)
  • 9 birds (grants Magpie the ability to confuse or stun enemies with a kiss)
  • 10 birds (transforms Magpie into a large non-anthropomorphic bird such as a Roc, Thunderbird or Phoenix)
